1. Full installation.
- Download the complete system from http://www.prince-webdesign.nl/tk4rob
- Shutdown your TK4- system.
- Rename the root directory of your TK4 system (that's your backup).
- Place the downloaded zip file into the root of the disk (Windows) or /home of your user (Linux) where the TK4 system should be installed.
- Unzip the downloaded file. This will create a 'tk4sys' directory with the new system with all modifications.
- For Linux users: after unzipping: go to the 'tk4sys' directory and execute 'chmod -R 755 *' to make the modules and scripts executable.
- Go to the 'unattended' directory and execute 'set_console_mode.bat' for Windows or 'set_console_mode' for Linux.
- IPL your new system in the usual way (start 'mvs' in Linux or 'mvs.bat' in Windows).
2. Installation of the modifications only.
- Download the modified set of disks from http://www.prince-webdesign.nl/rk4rob
- Shutdown your TK4- system.
- Make a full backup of the 'dasd' directory of your system.
- Place the downloaded zip file into the 'dasd' directory.
- Unzip the downloaded file. The will create and/or replace the updated disks. Replace the files if asked.
- Download the tk4-.cnf (hercules configuration file) and replace the old file in the 'conf' directory with this file.
- Download the catalog job and place this file ('catlg.jcl') into the root directory of your TK4- system.
- IPL your system un the usual way (start 'mvs' in Linux or 'mvs.bat' in Windows).
- Submit the downloaded catalog job in your hercules console with 'devinit 00c catlg.jcl' (without apostrophes).
A non-zero return code may occur.
3. Download the doc directory.
This step is only needed if you install the modifications only.
Notes:
The libraries SYS3.CMDLIB, SYS3.CMDPROC, SYS3.HELP, SYS3.LINKLIB, SYS3.PROCLIB and SYS3.SYSINLIB replaces the SYS2 equivalents. However the SYS2. libraries still exist, they need not to be updated, because these libraries are not a part of the system anymore (like members IEAAPFxx, LNKLSTxx catalogued procedures etc.). The mentioned SYS2 libraries are blocked for update with RAKF.
On volume MOD004 a new user catalog is allocated with the name SYS1.UCAT.TK4ROB
All the datasets on MOD004 are cataloged in this catalog.
If you install this modification for the first time, I recommend to download and install the complete system. For future updates it's enough to download and install the modifications and the doc directory.
